BitPlay KYC Verification Process
BitPlay uses KYC (Know Your Customer) checks to confirm who you are, where you live, and whether a payment method belongs to you. Verification is requested at specific points in the account lifecycle and is completed by uploading documents in the cashier or account settings.
- Identity (ID/Passport): BitPlay asks for a clear photo or scan of a government-issued document: passport, national ID card, or driving licence. The file must show the full document, all corners, and readable details; cropped images and screenshots are rejected. BitPlay may also request a selfie or short video check to match your face to the ID and confirm the document is genuine.
- Address proof: BitPlay requests a document dated within the last 3 months that shows your full name and residential address. Accepted examples include a bank statement, utility bill (electricity, water, gas), council/tax letter, or an official government letter. BitPlay rejects documents that only show a PO box, are older than 3 months, or donโt match the address on your profile.
- Payment method: BitPlay verifies the payment method when you deposit or withdraw, especially if the method changes or a new card is added. For bank cards, BitPlay typically asks for a photo of the card with the middle digits covered and the CVV hidden, while the first 6 and last 4 digits remain visible, plus the cardholder name and expiry date. For e-wallets, BitPlay may request a screenshot of the wallet profile page showing your name and the account email/ID, and for bank transfers a statement page showing the IBAN/account number and your name.
BitPlay triggers KYC when you request a withdrawal, when cumulative deposits or withdrawals reach an internal threshold, after a change to personal details, when a new payment method is used, or when activity is flagged by fraud and AML monitoring. If the account is incomplete, BitPlay can pause withdrawals until KYC is approved.
Review time depends on document quality and workload. BitPlay typically completes checks within 1โ24 hours after upload; if the case is escalated (blurred images, mismatched details, or extra payment checks), it can take
